Madaba: 12,000 Visitors to Tourist Sites Last Month

Last month, the number of visitors to tourism sites in Madaba governorate reached about 12,000, according to Madaba Tourism Director Wael Jainini.

Jainini said in a press statement, yesterday, Saturday, that the site of Mount Nebo received the largest number of visitors, as their number reached 11,959, then the site of the map church with 6,880 visitors, followed by the Madaba Visitor Center with 4,328 visitors, and the Dead Sea Panorama with 2,857, while the number of visitors reached Visitors to the Ma in Baths 1788, the Mukawir Site 213, the Church of the Apostles and the Archaeological Museum 150 visitors.
 
He pointed out that the number of visitors to the governorate during the first two months of this year amounted to 20,423, most of them from Jordan, including 4,880 visitors through the "Ordonna Janna" program launched by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities in cooperation with several tourism agencies and events.
 
Jainini indicated that 3,618 visitors came from the United States of America, 1,878 from France, and 1,392 from Spain, expecting that visitors to the governorate and the number of tourists in it will increase during the coming months with the start of mitigating measures related to the emerging Corona virus pandemic.
