Amman Citadel

Amman Citadel is a historical site at the center of downtown Amman, the capital of Jordan. The L-shaped hill is one of the seven hills that originally made up Amman.

The Citadel is considered One of the Most important Tourist sites in Jordan because it has had a long history of occupation by many great civilizations. Most of the buildings still visible at the site are from the Roman, Byzantine, and Umayyad periods.The major buildings at the site are the Temple of Hercules, a Byzantine church, and the Umayyad Palace. 

Visitors Go to the citadel to see the glorious hand that is believed to be the hand of Hercules.

Entrance to the Amman Citadel is 2JD ( Included in Jordan Pass if Purchased) .

It is open from 8:00 to 19:00 on Saturdays to Thursdays During Summer and until 16:00 During Winter Time. The Citadel is only open from 10:00 until 16:00 on Fridays throughout the year.
